Halland Material Academy
This project is meant to increase the use of research results by facilitating information transfer between universities, industry and business actors in Halland Sweden. The focus is on sustainable materials and business model development for circular solutions.
The project aims to identify companies and lab environments and carry out activities such as seminars, workshops and academic trips.
My part in this project thus far has been creating a folder as well as a number of signs for the travelling booth that the project uses.

Process
Background
I was asked by TEK kompetens to create a folder that is given out to attendees at Halland Material Academy events. This deliverable needed to encapsulate the essence of what the project stands for. Reusing materials in the search for circular solutions to some of today’s environmental problems.
Solution
The finished product is a small, portable and rustic folder consisting of thick recycled cardboard. A semibold grotesque has been used to stand up to the dark, quite textured paper. Holding the folder together is a selection of cloth, rubber and other materials used in the project. A focus on tactility and readability has been an incredibly important aspect throughout. Inspiration was taken from material samples, something you might receive when shopping for paint or tiles. The information needs to be delivered to the main audience as well as pocketable to spread the message.
These choices play off the rawness of the project and places the audience in both an academic but also a creative context. The feeling is that of modularity, reusability and innovation. The folder is a part of the project in more ways than simply deliviering the message through text.
